DIVE IN

The PADI Divemaster course is the first professional level of training within the PADI system. It is designed to develop your leadership abilities and expand your knowledge and skills as a diver. As a PADI Divemaster, you'll be qualified to assist instructors, lead certified divers, and supervise diving activities. Here's what you can expect from the PADI Divemaster course:

1. Prerequisites: To enrol in the PADI Divemaster course, you must be at least 18 years old, have a minimum of 40 logged dives, hold a PADI Rescue Diver certification or equivalent, and have completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the past 24 months. You'll also need to have a medical clearance signed by a physician within the past 12 months.
2. Course Structure: The Divemaster course is a comprehensive program that includes knowledge development, water skills exercises, practical application sessions, and real-world experience. The course can take several weeks to several months to complete, depending on the pace and schedule of the course.
3. Knowledge Development: You'll expand your knowledge of dive theory, dive physics, physiology, equipment, and dive management through self-study using the PADI e-learning materials. You'll review this knowledge with your instructor through classroom sessions or online discussions.
4. Water Skills Exercises: The Divemaster course includes a series of water skills exercises that will enhance your proficiency as a diver. These exercises focus on demonstration-level skills, problem-solving, and conducting various dive-related activities.
5. Practical Application Sessions: You'll work closely with a PADI Instructor, applying your knowledge and skills in practical scenarios. You'll assist with student divers, supervise certified divers, and gain hands-on experience in leading dives and managing diving activities.
6. Internship: A significant part of the Divemaster course involves an internship or practical work experience, where you'll work alongside experienced dive professionals and gain real-world knowledge and skills in a diving environment.
7. Professional Responsibility: Throughout the Divemaster course, you'll learn about the responsibilities and ethical considerations of being a dive professional. You'll develop leadership qualities, effective communication skills, and gain a deeper understanding of diver safety and customer service.
8. Certification: Upon successful completion of all course requirements and meeting the performance criteria, you'll be awarded the PADI Divemaster certification. This certification allows you to work in the dive industry as a professional, leading and supervising dives, assisting with dive courses, and conducting certain PADI programs.
